DVULI liaison Benita Hopkins (Oakland 2015) shares Jemar Tisby's The Color of Compromise for this month's resource for youth workers. Tisby provides an excellent and in-depth diagnosis for a racially divided American church and suggests ways to foster a more equitable and inclusive environment among God's people. He asserts that "the cultural and institutional tables must be flipped to bring about progress." He cites Psalm 9:9: "The Lord is a shelter for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble" (NLT).
