"DVULI's Benita Hopkins recommends The Color of Compromise for youth workers seeking racial equity resources."

by Benita Hopkins

DVULI liaison Benita Hopkins (Oakland 2015) shares Jemar Tisby’s The Color of Compromise for this month’s resource for youth workers. Tisby provides an excellent and in-depth diagnosis for a racially divided American church and suggests ways to foster a more equitable and inclusive environment among God’s people. He asserts that “the cultural and institutional tables must be flipped to bring about progress.” He cites Psalm 9:9: “The Lord is a shelter for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble” (NLT).
