How to Nominate/Apply

Youth workers in five select cities are invited to apply for the DVULI training each year. Nomination and application links will be available beginning December 1, 2025 for the cities of Albuquerque, Atlanta, Houston, Pittsburgh, and the Twin Cities.  Qualifying applicants are interviewed before a panel of stakeholders.

The key qualifications for cohort participation include:

• Has been in urban youth ministry for a minimum of three years
• Leads a program or ministry that directly impacts youth
• Demonstrates a willingness to share leadership with others
• Has a strong desire to learn and has a teachable spirit
• Is in a position to implement plans for change
• Is able to participate fully with the support of their organization
• Is personally active in a church
