About the Moderators:

Preston Adams (YFC 2018) has served in various professional roles for nearly 20 years as a tutor, teacher/educator, coach, mentor, chaplain, transition/re-entry specialist, program director, regional director, co-founder, and consultant. His professional experiences have centered on gang and/or system-involved young people. Preston is a local and national consultant aiding non-profits and government entities, emphasizing organizational culture, management, youth violence prevention/intervention, gang and system-involved young people, leadership development, systemic reform, belonging, restoration, transformation, and deep equity. He provides chaplaincy, mentorship, and re-entry services to system-involved youth and young adults. In everything, Preston seeks to center, empower, and elevate the voices, experiences, and stories of marginalized youth and families with hopes of bringing about systemic and long-standing change. 

Barrell Richardson (TFC 2018) is the founder and Executive Director of Teen Inc. He has been providing chaplaincy, mentoring, and various social skills and outreach programs for incarcerated and high-risk youth in Houston for more than 20 years. He has a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and a master’s in Entrepreneurship and Economic Development. A former schoolteacher who taught at one of the largest alternative schools in Houston for ten years before creating Teen Inc. in 2013. He is the Texas Juvenile Justice Ministry Coordinator for the National Network of Youth Ministers and Texas State Lead for Every Youth Every Facility.
